At Gateshead Libraries borrowing, renewing and reserving books could not be simpler! You can borrow up to 20 books, 6 CDs and 6 videos or DVDs at any one time.
Children have to get their parents permission before we are able upgrade their tickets to allow them to use computers in the library.
Either come along with a parent or guardian or ask a member of staff to post out a form for them to sign.
If you have not finished with your books when they are due back at the library, you can extend the due date by telephone. Just call your local library or 0191 433 8400 and staff will be pleased to help.
You can also extend loans from this website. You will need your borrower number and 4 digit PIN. Use our
online library catalogue to search for books, reserve them, or renew your loans.
You can search by author, title, keyword, classification and ISBN. We even list our stock of CDs, videos and DVDs too!

Stock salesGateshead Libraries holds annual sales of older stock, usually in the Caedmon Hall in the Central Library. We sell CDs and videos as well as books. We publicise each sale in advance, information will be posted to the News items on our homepage when the next one is arranged.
