Gateshead Children's Book Award 2011 Publisher's Information
The deadline for nominations for the 2011 Gateshead Children's Book Award has now passed. Thanks to all publishers who have nimonated titles. Please see below for details of the nomination process.
Eligibility Books published for the first time between 1st September 2009 and 31st August 2010 are eligible for submission. There is no limit on the number of books entered by each publisher. It is preferable that nominated authors are a UK resident, if only to allow them to attend the award ceremony. However we would not wish to exclude any non-residents who have made an important contribution to children's literature.
Sponsorship The Gateshead Children's Book Award relies on the kind support of children's publishers. The Award is possible because publishers provide copies of their nominated titles for children to review. The copies are circulated amongst 10-12 Gateshead schools. We ask publishers who are nominating titles for the Award to initially provide 1 copy of each title. A shortlist will then be decided by a panel of children; we ask that at leat 10 copies of shortlisted titles are provided.
