Stones for My Father by Trilby Kent

A review by Gabrille Larkin

Did you enjoy the book? Why?

I enjoyed reading Stones for My Father. I liked how Coralie made friends with a little monkey.

What aspects of the novel did you most enjoy?

I liked when, at the end, Coralie lives happily with Corporal Bryne rather than having to live with her mother who was cruel to her.

What aspects did you least like?

I didn’t like the part when Gert died because Coralie and her mother argue and Coralie is sent out of the tent and she isn’t allowed to come back.

Are there any questions that you would like to ask the author?

I would like to ask the author what inspired them to write the book.

Would you read another book by Trilby Kent?

I would look forward to reading another novel by Trilby Kent.

What is your opinion of the cover of Stones for My Father?

I think the book cover matched what was written because Coralie and her family have to go out and live with the laager. It gives a good impression of what the book is like.

Who are you favourite authors?

My favourite authors are Enid Blyton, Jacqueline Wilson and Rachel Caine.
