Hello and welcome to the first Folkworks Communities eNewsletter.

We'll be sending this out on a regular basis to keep you posted about what's new on the Folkworks Community pages. You can unsubscibe at any time using the link at the bottom of the page.

What is the Folkworks Community?
It's a space for you to find out all of the latest new and announcements before anyone else about the Folkworks programme.  It's also somewhere for you to share your thoughts in our forums or your photos in our galleries or even videos if you're brave enough!

What else do I need to know?
The community is kindly provided by our friends at ExploreMusic.  ExploreMusic also provide a range of listings for the region including 'What's On', tutors, Ceilidh bands, folk clubs and sessions and other workshops.

Best wishes

Chris Pentney

Header for Hexham Gathering 21-25 May 2008

The Hexham Gathering for 2008 is expanding!

We're starting on Wednesday 21 May with a concert at the Queens Hall Hexham featuring final year degree students on the Folk and Traditional Music Course.

We'll have a concert at SICA at Stocksfield on Thursday 22, more concerts around Tynedale on Friday 23, loads of exciting outdoor music in Hexham on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25, plus some great concerts at Queens Hall Hexham, and the giant Ceilidh at Wentworth Leisure Centre.

Keep your eyes on the Folkworks Community for more news as it's announced and for details of how young musicians can get involved.
