The AIRS talking newspaper and audio magazine service is available free of charge to listeners in Gateshead, and on a modest subscription charge to people outside Gateshead (locally, regionally or nationally).

The full service comprises four one-hour cassettes per week: Sunny Side Up magazine on Tuesdays, Wednesday Focus talking newspaper, Sounds Northern regional magazine on Fridays and Saturday Focus talking newspaper.

Listeners can choose to receive one, two, three or four tapes a week and we can suspend the service if people are away from home.

To subscribe to the AIRS service, you will need to give us your name and address, and also contact details of someone we can contact if we have difficulty in contacting you. You do not need to be registered blind or partially sighted to subscribe to or receive the AIRS service.
